Two piece core chucks were our first core chuck product offering. They work by installing a ribbed core chuck into a parent roll by hand. These chucks have a through bore that will then accept a 3”, 4”, or 5” diameter mandrel that is also installed by hand. The mandrel has the appropriate taper to accept the bull nose spindle for the customers back-stand.

Benefits to this design:

• The operator has the least amount of weight to lift by hand and this lower weight will help to minimize lifting injuries.
• A manipulator does not need to be used with this application
• While the mandrel may be specifically mated to a specific paper line the ribbed core chucks can be used with any mandrel and can be moved from line to line.

Sizes:

Our two piece core chucks have been designed for 10”, 12”, and 16” diameter parent rolls. Consider our solid core chuck or mandrel core chucks for parent roll sizes less than 10” in diameter.
